FRAMING FOR PRINTS

The standard style for Mike’s framed prints features a bright white mat which matches the paper the prints are printed on, making a seamless transition from paper to mat, and a sleek, classic black frame for a timeless and modern look. The mat is wider at the bottom, visually weighted to provide balance to the overall composition of the image in the frame.

When considering the wall space you have available, remember to include the margins around the print as well as the size of the mat and frame in your measurements. Each print varies in size, and is proportional to the original canvas size of the painting, so for print sizes, please check the description of the specific image you ordered on our website. To make it easier for you, we’ve provided a quick reference guide below.

FRAMING FOR CANVAS

ORDER HERE

Because of the depth of the canvases Mike uses, which usually measure 1.25”, we use floater frames to frame originals. The floater frame secures the canvas to its center, leaving a small gap between the canvas and frame on all sides in order to preserve the paint around the edges and to showcase the canvas itself. It looks fantastic around canvases large or small!

The frame itself is a classic black, open-grain wooden floater frame, deep and not wide, providing a delicate black outline around the painting so as not to draw the eye away from the artwork itself.
